Property Accounting Manager
(Oshawa)
CPA DESIGNATION AND PROPERTY ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE MANDATORY
A dynamic company specializing in industrial and commercial property management is currently seeking a Property Accounting Manager, reporting to the General Manager. The qualified applicant will be enthusiastic, bright and exhibit leadership qualities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Perform financial analysis and prepare monthly financial statements for all properties & development projects
- Prepare all aspects of financial and operational reporting
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Supervise all accounting staff
- Oversee all bank transactions and requirements
- Reconcile monthly all bank accounts
- Prepare year-end recoveries reconciliation
- Calculate monthly charge backs for salary, office supplies, etc.
- Maintain amortization schedules including insurance, property tax, capital projects.
- Act as point person for all tenant notices and communications
- Provide support for all internal customers including operations, leasing and asset management
- Provide leadership support for all other functions within administration
- Other duties as required
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Accounting designation, CPA
- Minimum 5 years senior accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years commercial/retail property accounting experience required
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of financial accounting
- Strong overall business acumen (ability to understand the larger picture)
- Proven management and leadership skills
- Experience working with operations
- Mathematical aptitude and strong analytical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to self- manage, organize, prioritize and interact well with others both internally and externally
- Yardi & QuickBook experience preferred
- Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, Access and Outlook) level
Relationship Skills: ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; team player

Salary: $85,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

The Candidate and Expectations
Stoneleigh Management is seeking to hire a Senior Property Accountant to join their Oshawa team and focus on property accounting & finance responsibilities for a real estate management company and various other investment vehicles. The opportunity exists for this individual to get great exposure into the real estate industry and build a long-term career with a dynamic, growing, reputable real estate group. Applicants for this position will be self-motivated individuals with a high degree of initiative and professionalism.
The Property Accountant is expected to:
Handle full-cycle accounting for a real estate portfolio including income producing and development properties with limited supervision
To provide accurate and timely financial information as required internally by management and externally by investors and other parties
Have full involvement, responsibility, and accountability for their portfolio, which includes all monthly, quarterly, annual, and other duties as detailed in the job responsibilities
Complete all job functions relating to assigned properties accurately, efficiently, and by the assigned deadlines
Utilize and develop skills such as problem solving, decision-making, time management and effective communication to achieve the desired results
Job Responsibilities
The Senior Property Accountant will report directly to the Finance Controller and be responsible for the
following:

and Industrial properties - Prepare all aspects of financial and operational reporting
- Prepare properties budgets and forecasts
- Reconcile monthly all bank accounts
- Prepare year-end recoveries reconciliation
- Maintain amortization schedules including insurance, property tax, capital projects
- Provide support for all internal customers including operations, leasing and asset management
- Provide leadership support for all other functions within administration
Qualifications\Requirements
- Obtained or working toward an Accounting Designation, CPA
- Minimum 4-5 years accounting experience; minimum 2-3 years Residential and Commercial Property
- Accounting experience required
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of financial accounting and reporting
- Experience working with operations
- Mathematical aptitude and strong analytical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Yardi & QuickBook experience preferred
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, Access and Outlook) level
Relationship Skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; team player
Start date: Immediately
Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000 based on experience
This is an 8 hour work, 5 days a week. No option to work from home
